Old Town, walking and looking at the old buildings
Travel Description
A group of nine of us decided to take a rather unconventional approach to spring break. We looked for the least expensive flight to a tropical location. Our ideal trip would have been accessible and relatively inexpensive. Luckily we weere able to find $300 flights from LAX to Panama City. Once in Panama we stayed at the Las Vegas Suites. We found the hotel to be adequate. The rooms were sparse but the location was good. Incidentally the hotel was located above one of the better restaurants in the neighborhood. While in panama city we did the normal tourists things; the canal, the old town, and a little shopping. The Old Town "Casco Viejo" was probably the highlight of the Panama City sight seeing. At night we went to various bars. We would typically drink at the hotel then head to the calle 54 neighborhood. The street was filled with typical clubs masquerading as ultra lounges. our favorite club was one at the bottom of the street most near the water. The club played raggeaton music and had a friendly laid back vibe. Overall our three days in Panama City was plenty. I would stay there for much longer then that.
