A storm rolled through on the last day and some nice little onshore waves came around, good skim boarding and stuff. No surfing though.
Travel Description
Cannes is a beautiful place on the south coast of France. It is for sure a typical tourist spot, awesome beaches and tons of high end shopping. Cannes hosts the International film festival once yearly. The place is beautiful but it is expensive as all hell. Hotels, shopping, food and the whole bit costs a ton of money. While most people stay downtown and spend a lot of money the true gem of the area is a short bus ride south, (seriously short, like 5 minutes) towards the convention center where the film festival is. Just a few blocks away is "Old Cannes." Ask anyone working in the area how to find it. It is 2 long streets from the old downtown area with old architecture from the original city center, it is full of small boutique shops and has a market sort of style. Lots of good food and stuff. This is where the locals live and shop etc. This area is a lot cheaper than the main drag and has tons more culturally significant character.
